Along with the changing of the guard, tours of the fort are also available. With acres of land to run in, this is a great place to bring active children.
You also have an awesome view from the highest natural point in Quebec. The views from the top of the Citadel are just fantastic. You will get some great views of the Chateau, St. Lawrence and beyond along with some wonderful photo opportunities.
Quebec’s public transportation system is very user friendly and you can purchase one day passes ($6.15 CDN) for unlimited bus passages for the day or for two people on Saturdays and Sundays for the same price. If your children are old enough, renting bikes is a great option for getting around. Quebec City has miles and miles of fantastic biking trails. Be aware however, if you are cycling in the inner city, many of the streets are steep and narrow. In this case, public transportation will be a better option for your family.
